What will you profit?

Simply put.. The things in this world are not worth missing Heaven for! However, people try to be complicated, we try to look at things as if they will last forever. We often go on day to day not making preparations for our final home. See, as Christians our body is just a shell and this world is just a temporary place. One day if we have served Christ and done everything according to his will, Heaven will be our home. I can hardly imagine not going to heaven. I can’t imagine what it would be like to not see Jesus, to not look upon his glorious face, to never again see my loved ones – not to mention what it would be like to spend eternity in an eternal lake of fire.

There are things everywhere to temp us; even people will temp and try us – sometimes not even knowingly.  Sometimes even in our Christian walk we become luke warm Christians or even backslide. How we can fall prey to Satan still is a wonder to me. I like to say that we are all human, we have all fell short of his glory and like Paul said “I die daily”. Prayer is something we must do constantly. Pray with out ceasing, every time the enemy tries to weasel his way into our thoughts and into our lives we need to stomp on him like a big old creepy spider.  Its not worth it. We simply cannot allow ourselves to miss Heaven.

Ask your self what will I profit? Is missing church on Sunday morning worth missing Heaven? I’m not saying if you miss a service you’ll miss Heaven, BUT we MUST have a desire and determination to seve Christ and I can think of no better way than to wake up early on Sunday morning to make Sunday School. We all need to be fed – a perfect time for prayer and teaching that we all so desperately need.

What will I profit if I stop going to church and start going to bars? Sure having a few might seem fun when you’re dancing the night away but what happens when you leave the bar and on your way home get into a fatal crash? You don’t make, there’s not time to pray. Not only the possibility of losing your own life but maybe even taking the life of another. Sure… I can hear it now “I doubt that would ever happen to me” BUT you don’t know. There’s no promise of tomorrow. This very minute that you’re reading this may in fact be your last, perhaps that seems a little morbid but its something we need to think about!

What will I profit if I gain the whole world but lose my soul? In the end will it really matter if we’re rich, famous, or popular? Maybe even a hypocrite going to church only to pretend? What would we gain? NOTHING but an eternity of suffering.

Think about it…… what will you profit?

Mat 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

 26.  For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

2.7  For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
